PCOE 5908 - Evidence-Based Practices in Teaching This professional development workshop is designed for educators working in P-12 settings. The modules focus on identifying and selecting effective educational strategies supported by evidence and research, implementing evidence-based practices or programs with fidelity, and evaluating the effectiveness of evidence-based practices with one’s own students. At the completion of the workshop, participants receive a Certificate of Completion and one semester hour of graduate credit. This workshop cannot be used toward any Ohio University degree requirements.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 1 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to identify/define evidence-based practices.
- Students will be able to investigate trustworthy sources to find evidence-based practices.
- Students will be able to implement evidence-based practices with fidelity, as well as the cautions associated with adapting evidence-based practices to make them “work better” with P-12 students.
- Students will be able to critique the effectiveness of evidence-based practices when implemented correctly.
