AT 5130 - Diagnosis and Care of Head and Cervical Spine Pathologies Introduces diagnostic techniques, immediate management, and appropriate medical and therapeutic interventions for head and cervical spine injuries. Topics include concussions, intracranial hemorrhage, skull fracture, eye trauma, and injuries to the nose, face, and ear.
Requisites: AT 5010 Credit Hours: 2.0 lecture Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to implement strategies to prevent head and cervical spine pathologies.
- The student will be able to identify and evaluate acute head and cervical spine pathologies leading to a clinical and differential diagnosis.
- The student will be able to implement a plan of care for head and cervical spine pathologies.
- The student will be able to identify the presence of a concussion and other traumatic brain injuries.
- The student will be able to implement a plan of care for a concussed patient.
