PCOE 5902 - Mentoring Quality Matters: Supporting Ohio’s Continuum of Teacher Development This course is a professional development workshop comprised of three modules that focus on the role of mentoring during teacher preparation and induction. Development of pre-service teachers and beginning teachers is addressed from the Professional Internship through the Resident Educator Experiences. The Continuum of Teacher Development and Ohio’s Seven Standards for the Teaching Profession for P-12 educators are referenced. This course cannot be used toward any Ohio University degree.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 1.0 lecture Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The learner will be able to apply knowledge and skills about mentoring in professional settings.
- The learner will be able to identify, articulate, and discuss stages of teacher development as outlined by Ohio’s Continuum of Teacher Development.
