NRSE 6210 - Advanced Pathophysiology in Nursing Practice

Focuses on analysis of concepts of physiology and pathophysiology and relationship to nursing interventions across lifespan of humans at the advanced practice level.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to analyze normal physiological parameters of bodily systems across the lifespan.
Students will be able to apply diagnostic reasoning in assessing and evaluating clients with specific pathophysiological alterations leading to differential diagnoses.
Students will be able to compare and contrast measurement strategies used by advanced practice nurses to assess and/or monitor human physiological systems.
Students will be able to describe the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical and laboratory manifestations of specific disease processes.
Students will be able to identify the internal and external factors that affect specific physiological states along the health to illness continuum.
