Program Overview
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts allows students to study across the schools of Art + Design, Dance, Film, Music, and Theater. Students in this program create their own unique degree path by selecting two areas of study within the College of Fine Arts. A program advisor within the School of Interdisciplinary Arts coordinates and approves curricular plans for each student who pursues the degree.

Opportunities Upon Graduation
Innovation is a key to entrepreneurship. Artists regularly create their own professional paths, and interdisciplinary work opens doors to new opportunities. Graduates of the program may find careers crossing between disciplines, such as music for film or dance and movement as performance art. Students with theater backgrounds may apply performing arts practices to sculptural objects. As we continue to develop new technologies, interdisciplinary artists can utilize a broad range of skills and talents to bridge art forms and facilitate cultural interaction.

University-wide Graduation Requirements
Ohio University requires the completion of a minimum of 120 semester hours for the conferral of a bachelor’s degree. This program can be completed within that 120-hour requirement. 3000-Level or Above Requirement
Of the 120 hours required to complete a bachelor’s degree at Ohio University, at least 39 hours must be courses with catalog numbers at the 3000-level or above, as shown in this catalog. This does not include any graduate level courses.

Complete the following two courses:

Complete one of the following courses:
Primary Area of Concentration
Complete 29 hours in the primary area of concentration as determined in consultation with your area and interdisciplinary arts advisors.
Secondary Area of Concentration
Complete 29 hours in the secondary area of concentration as determined in consultation with your area and interdisciplinary arts advisors.
Electives Requirement
Complete 17 hours of any courses offered in the following subject areas which are not being used to meet other requirements within the major: AH, ART, DANC, FAR, FILM, IART, THAR.
