History M.A.

Program Overview: The M.A. program offers a thesis and nonthesis option. M.A. students can concentrate in many different fields, including European (ancient and medieval, early modern or modern), U.S., Latin American, African, Middle Eastern, East Asian and Southeast Asian history.

Admissions Policy: Applicants should have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 24 semester hours or 36 quarters hours of undergraduate courses in history.

Change Policy: No selective or limited admission requirements.

Transfer Policy: No requirements beyond University admission requirements.

Opportunities: The M.A. program prepares students for a Ph.D. program in history or for a variety of careers, including positions in teaching, government, museum work, or policy research and advocacy.
