SOC 481 - Environmental Sociology Examines the interaction between social systems and the natural ecosystems in which they reside. It considers the predominant cultural, demographic, economic, geographic, political, and social factors that modify and shape the environment and the human ecological footprint. Emphasis is on the prospects for the emergence of sustainable societies and links between environmental issues and conflict, development, globalization, inequality, social change, and social movements among others. Prerequisites: 12 HRS SOC INCL 101
