Delivery Mode: Athens Campus, (ND8164) All Online. The PIDC is offered in a 100% online format to optimize flexibility and convenience for participants from a broad geographic area with diverse professional experiences and widely varying schedules.

Certificate Overview:  The Professional Instructional Design Certificate is an entirely online format that serves individuals with the desire to transition into or expand their knowledge of instructional design. The series prepares participants to develop theory-driven instructional materials and strategies for traditional, hybrid and online adult learning environments. Completion of the series requires 14 semester hours of graduate credit. Up to 12 hours can be accepted as progress toward completion of the M.Ed. program in Computer Education and Technology or 8 hours toward the Ph.D. in Instructional Technology should the student wish to apply.

Opportunities upon Completion: The program prepares participants to design and develop theory-driven instructional materials and strategies for online learning environments. The Professional Instructional Design Certificate provides individuals with the knowledge, skills and experiences to work independently and collaboratively as leaders in their field.

Graduation Requirements:

  1. 12 course credits within the program.
  2. 2 course credits in special topics workshops.

Admission Requirements: Completed application (using non-degree status) for the Professional Instructional Design Certificate ND8164.
