The Studio Art minor is offered for nonmajors who wish to pursue study in art. To declare a studio art minor, consult with your major advisor and with a School of Art advisor. Approval from the School of Art director is required. Minimum requirement of 2.75 overall GPA required for admission. You must maintain a 3.0 GPA in the minor.

Requirements for an art minor are:

Complete three of the following four courses:

ART 113 - Three-Dimensional Studies Credit Hours: 4
ART 116 - Descriptive Drawing Credit Hours: 4
and EITHER
ART 112 - Foundations Photography Credit Hours: 4
or
ART 114 - Digital Visualizing Credit Hours: 4

Complete two of the following five courses:

A H 211 - History of Art Credit Hours: 4
A H 212 - History of Art Credit Hours: 4
A H 213 - History of Art Credit Hours: 4
A H 214 - History of Non-Western Art Credit Hours: 4
ART 110 - Seeing and Knowing the Visual Arts Credit Hours: 4

Select from:

1 200- or 300-level studio art course

AND

2 300- or 400-level studio art courses
