PSY 1090 - Optimizing Your Psychology Major Provides first-year psychology majors with a background in psychology as a profession and as a major. Aim is to assist students in planning a course of study that will support their major and career aspirations.
Requisites: Fr only Credit Hours: 1 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to explain the science and practice of psychology as a discipline.
- Students will be able to develop an effective organization, time management, and study skills.
- Students will be able to develop short term goals (e.g., schedules) and long-term goals for career options in psychology (with either an undergraduate or graduate degree).
- Students will be able to recognize and use university resources.
