ENG 3630 - Creative Writing: Nonfiction Beginning course in writing nonfiction with emphasis on invention, craft, and criticism of student writing and published nonfiction.
Requisites: ENG 2010 or 2020 or 2530 or 2540 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to create works of creative nonfiction utilizing specific craft components.
- Students will be able to read critically, with an awareness of the effects of diction and style choices.
- Students will be able to recognize and define the genre and various subgenres of creative nonfiction.
- Students will be able to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their work and use those reflections to revise their writing.
