RSP 4100 - Professional Development Seminar


This course emphasizes the importance of professional development in the field of recreation and sport pedagogy. The course provides students with understanding of their responsibilities in continually developing and maintaining professional competency as practitioners in the field. Additionally, the course provides students with guidance in developing professional portfolios as a means for reflecting on their own professional growth and development, synthesizing their learning over the course of their studies in their programs, and portraying their level of professional competency in their fields.

Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to discuss the nature and scope of professional practice within their respective disciplines.
