CSD 3800 - Basic Audiology Provides a basic understanding of the standard clinical procedures used to assess the auditory system, including puretone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, masking, and otoacoustic emissions. Advanced audiological procedures and pediatric testing will also be discussed. Emphasis on interpretation of audiometric test results. Anatomy and physiology of the auditory system reviewed as related to disorders of the ear. Exposure to instrumentation, test materials, and practical testing experience provided.
