CHE 4300 - Chemical Engineering Process Design I Preliminary design of a chemical process. Process synthesis, computer flowsheeting, layout, safety, and economics. Involves trips to various chemical plants. Also involves the assessment of skills from explicit and implicit prerequisite courses. Particular emphasis on Hazard and operability analysis of chemical processes and the subsequent safe operation criteria.
