HIST 346D - Imperial China Surveys the middle period between ancient and modern China; from the 1200s, when the Mongol Empire rose to conquer the Song, through to the maturation of Chinese civilization in the Ming/Qing to the decline of the imperial state in the 19th century. Two of Chinas greatest premodern novels express contemporary values.
Prerequisites: (JR OR SR) & NOT 346A Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken 4 times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
