HIST 344A - History of the Malay World Comparative view of Southeast Asian archipelago, emphasizing Indonesian civilization after 1750. Penetration of West, struggle with imperialism and modernization, and present dilemmas. Indigenous views are the focus of attention.
Prerequisites: SOPH OR JR OR SR Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken one time excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
