CLAR 352 - Ancient Rome:Development of the City from the 8th Century B.C. to the 4th Century A.D. An introduction to the urban development of ancient Rome through an intensive on-site examination of its monuments and artifacts. The focus is on field work. While Rome is the focus of the course, several days are also spent at Ostia and Pompeii to highlight aspects of Roman life not readily observable in modern Rome.
Prerequisites: CLAR 212 OR HIST 329B OR ANY LATIN CRSE Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken 4 times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
