HCCF 477 - Professional Practices in Child Life

Students will learn clinical and professional practices required in the child life specialist field, including medical play therapy, pain management/coping and distraction techniques, therapeutic activities, assessment tools, procedure preparations, and patient documentation within guidelines for child life.

Prerequisites: (C OR BETTER HCCF 298 & 371)
Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken 4 times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
