ECEE 2801 - Integrated Play-Based Curriculum Students design and implement integrated, play-based curriculum in early childhood and elementary settings. Grounded in constructivist pedagogy and an emphasis on the creative process, students apply accessible and inclusive practices to plan, implement, and assess learning experiences. Students align curriculum with learning standards and use authentic assessment strategies to support children’s cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and creative development in inclusive and equitable learning environments.
Requisites: Admission to Preschool Clinical Experience Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to design integrated, play-based curriculum plans aligned with academic standards.
- Students will be able to implement constructivist instructional strategies that foster cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and creative development.
- Students will be able to evaluate children’s learning using authentic assessment methods that inform instructional decisions.
- Students will be able to analyze how diverse experiences shape children’s learning and apply this to integrated, play-based curriculum design.
- Students will be able to develop and implement integrated, play-based lesson plans that are inclusive and accessible.
