THAR 4821 - Musical Theater Showcase


Students utilize tools developed in Musical Theater Workshop I, II, and III to develop performance material that is recorded as an industry showcase. Students explore the process of choosing repertoire including songs and monologues and develop practices for self-taping.

Requisites: THAR 3811 and BFA Performance major (Musical Theater track) (BF5049)
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 studio, 2.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to choose repertoire highlighting their unique skills and attributes for industry stakeholders.
  • Students will be able to perform music and monologues for camera.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate advanced level acting and music skills to showcase their work for agents and casting directors.
  • Students will be able to evaluate physical choices in their performance through critical thinking.
