MDIA 3912 - Social Media Practicum Students earn practical experience in the field of social media with employer supervision. Practicum may be on or off-campus, local or out of town, in person or remote. Students must work a minimum of 40 hours.
Requisites: Permission required Credit Hours: 1 - 3 OHIO BRICKS: Bridge: Learning and Doing Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 6.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 internship Grades: Eligible Grades: F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to connect their prior academic knowledge with real-world experiences in professional social media settings.
- Students will be able to identify and make connections between principles of professional social media work and perspectives from related disciplines such as marketing, communication, and business.
- Students will be able to adapt and apply theories, methods, and skills learned in the course to new and diverse professional social media contexts.
- Students will be able to effectively communicate their analysis, strategies, and recommendations for professional social media work using appropriate formats, language, and visual representations that enhance understanding and engagement.
- Students will be able to reflect on their learning process, evaluate their strengths and areas for growth in professional social media practices, and develop strategies to respond effectively to evolving challenges in the field.
