Program Overview

Sports administration is an applied field of study based on the integration of the special nature of sport endeavors and management theory, and administrative principles applied to sport involvement. The minor in sports administration at Ohio University is designed to provide students with the academic preparation and practical training required for success in the sport industry.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

Entry-level positions in sports-related industries, such as collegiate athletics, professional sports, recreation, industry trade associations, and with sponsors and consultants are extremely competitive. Students and candidates from many education backgrounds seek positions in sport-related fields. A sports administration minor helps prepare students for careers in these fields, and it provides additional training as they compete for entry-level positions.
