Actuarial Sciences Major (B.S.)


Special curricula; major code BS3105

The following program includes 56 hours of mathematics and is intended to prepare students for entering the actuarial profession. Students should be prepared to pass the first actuarial examination before graduation.

The program has a strong business component (with the addition of BUSL 255 (opens in a new window) , MKT 202 (opens in a new window) , and OPN 300 (opens in a new window)  satisfies the requirements for a Business minor (opens in a new window) ) and is also a good choice if you plan to combine mathematics with a career in business. FIN 327 (opens in a new window) , 341 (opens in a new window)  , 461 (opens in a new window) , and MATH 456 (opens in a new window)  are also recommended in addition to the required courses.
