Certificate Overview
The 11-credit hour College Teaching certificate is a stand-alone, online interdisciplinary graduate certificate that provides current and future college and university faculty/staff with the knowledge and skills to teach effectively in higher education settings. It focuses on theories of learning, pedagogy and assessment strategies for in-person and online teaching, principles of universal design for learning, and opportunities for experiential learning and practice. The certificate can be completed in one year. Note that some of the practicum offerings are in-person only.
Certificate Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to articulate key principles of teaching, learning, and assessment, including different theories and methods.
- Students will be able to apply strategies to create inclusive, engaging, and responsive learning environments, both in person and online, for diverse college student populations.
