ENG 6420 - Topics in History of Books and Printing

Topics in the history of the book as material object and its place in development of Western culture from ancient world to present.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 8.0 hours.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 seminar
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to write clearly, persuasively, and in accordance with conventions of formal writing in English Studies.
  • Students will be able to produce research projects that incorporate close reading, graduate-level argumentation, and original ideas.
  • Students will be able to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate scholarly materials.
  • Students will be able to develop original research questions, theses, and bibliographies in book history.
  • Students will be able to locate and use appropriate research resources of University Libraries.
