ECT 6502 - MFA Teaching Practices II

The course continues the introduction to course design and curriculum planning begun in ECT 6501. Students will also consider strategies for the successful start of an academic career.

Requisites: MFA in Communication Media Arts students only
Credit Hours: 2
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 seminar

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to engage in faculty discussions concerning curricular and course design within a communication program.
  • Students will be able to debate and discuss academic strategic planning within a communication program.
  • Students will be able to write professional documents for the academic workplace.
  • Students will be able to design and apply effective approaches to job applications, interview processes, and job negotiations in an academic setting.
  • Students will be able to effectively plan the beginning of their career in an academic setting.
