ECT 6501 - MFA Teaching Practices I The course introduces MFA students to the techniques and practices of designing and teaching undergraduate courses in the Scripps College of Communication.
Requisites: MFA in Communication Media Arts students only Credit Hours: 2 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to demonstrate appropriate techniques to teach courses in the Scripps College of Communication including: lecture, discussion, production labs, critique and experiential learning.
- Students will be able to analyze teaching skills through practice, review, and reflection.
- Students will be able to develop strategies to improve teaching to be applied in peer review or self-evaluation.
- Students will be able to successfully design an undergraduate course.
- Students will be able to debate and discuss pedagogy, course design and curricula in an informed manner.
