AT 6120 - Leadership and Professionalism in Athletic Training

Emphasizes the critical evaluation and discussion of leadership strategies and administrative activities central to athletic training practice, including the development of emotional intelligence; the analysis of data to inform practice and establish value of services; and the engagement in professional service.

Learning Outcomes:
 

  • Students will be able to propose a business or value model for athletic training practice and potential revenue generation across clinical settings.
  • Students will be able to apply value-based healthcare across clinical settings.
  • Students will be able to analyze how communication styles with colleagues and patients affect teamwork and patient outcomes.
  • Students will be able to hypothesize how modifying personal communication style may impact professional collaborations and patient outcomes.
  • Students will be able to assess their emotional maturity and its impact on communication and patient care.
