POLS 5740 - Sexuality and Queer Theories Explores intersections of gender and sexuality with other primary forms of identity including but not limited to race, ethnicity, religiosity, class and culture. Queer theorizing explored both as a critical tool and as a resource for a more transformative alternative politics.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will gain an understanding of the complex relationship between sexuality and gender and its intersections with other aspects of human identity.
- Students will understand, the historical, legal, social and contemporary political implications of various understandings of gender and sexual identity.
