MCB 7300 - Molecular and Cellular Biology Laboratory

Exposes the MCB student to a wide variety of laboratory techniques used in the broad field of molecular and cellular biology by allowing the student to carry out these techniques in the laboratory.

Requisites: MCB 7200
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 6.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Learn how to acquire and analyze data from such specialized research instruments.
  • Learn how to critically evaluate experimental data.
  • Learn how to troubleshoot problems associated with research instruments and experiments.
  • Learn how to use specialized biological research instruments.
  • Learn how to write a clear and concise laboratory report/scientific manuscript.
  • Understand of basic and advanced molecular and cellular biology concepts and techniques.
  • Understand of current experimentation in the fields of biotechnology and genetic engineering.
