HLTH 6100 - Evaluation and Quality Improvement in Health Care Evaluation strategies to assess and improve health care efficiency, effectiveness, and quality, including use of quality standards and protocols.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Communicate evaluation and assessment goals and results to relevant stakeholders.
- Critique current and suggest new quality standards and benchmarks.
- Design evaluation protocols that are consistent with evaluation purposes, include appropriate data collection and analysis (financial, statistical, evidence-based).
- Develop and plan implementation of quality assurance (root cause analysis, benchmarking, process analysis, etc.).
- Explain and justify models for incorporation of evaluation into organizational planning.
- Translate external assessment requirements to internal evaluation methods.
- Understand the necessary components to implement and or manage an effective and compliant utilization review/management structure within a health care organization.
