FAR 5930 - Independent Study The content for this Independent Study will vary but remain focused on topics of Arts Administration. Topics covered might include fundraising, development, grant writing, organizational structure, operational planning and management, communication, audience building, arts advocacy, and the role of the arts in communities.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 1 - 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 8.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 independent study Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to discuss the basic components of arts organizations.
- Students will be able to analyze the structure and practices of an arts organization.
- Students will be able to identify, describe, and discuss various issues in the field of arts administration.
- Students will be able to demonstrate the basic knowledge, skills, self-reflection, and resources required for a successful career as an arts administrator.
- Students will be able to identify fundraising strategies for an arts organization.
- Students will be able to present programming strategies for an arts organization.
- Students will be able to articulate the role of arts organizations in the community.
