RUS 4441 - Stylistics
Advanced writing and stylistic analysis. Practice in a variety of nonfiction prose techniques.
Requisites: RUS 3120

Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes: - Analyzes texts understanding the difference between various styles: literary, journalistic, colloquial, business style etc.
- Applies various syntactic and lexical devices. Uses synonyms instead of repetition of key words, understands idiomatic expressions.
- Demonstrates flexibility to vary his/her writing style according to different tasks, contexts, and situations.
- The successful student is able to converse on different stylistic levels, with varying degrees of formality, according to the rules of speech etiquette of the target language.
