AT 5921 - AT Practicum 1


Application of knowledge and skills obtained in the classroom to patient care under the direct supervision of a clinical preceptor. Emphasizes clinical decision-making of emergent care.

Requisites: Admission to MSAT Program
Credit Hours: 2

Learning Outcomes:
  • The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in administrative tasks including basic administration and documentation including electronic medical records.
  • The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in completing pre-participation physical examinations.
  • The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in event set-up.
  • The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in emergency care including CPR, supplemental oxygen administration, and use of automatic external defibrillator.
  • The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in immediate treatment of orthopedic injuries including splinting and wound care.
  • The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in taping for lower extremity.
