COED 6230 - Reading, Writing and Applying Research for Sport Coaches This course provides students with the opportunity to read and demonstrate an understanding of current research, write about research methods and practices, and apply research in sports coaching.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 6.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to analyze published empirical research relevant to a topic of study.
- Students will be able to assess a range of philosophical approaches underlying the research process and their associated epistemological standpoint.
- Students will be able to assess validity, reliability, and ethical issues when conducting research.
- Students will be able to design and conduct applied research.
- Students will be able to critically reflect on the research process.
