AT 5790 - Wellness for Performing Artists Intended for non-athletic training majors. Principles of wellness for performing artists and performing arts instructors to enable healthy and safe performance. Includes introduction to healthy practices for performing artists, common performing arts injuries and conditions, and how performers can effectively communicate with healthcare practitioners.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to analyze the physical rigors that are integral to success in performing arts.
- The student will be able to describe common injuries and conditions suffered by performing artists and how to manage them.
- The student will be able to implement healthy practices for optimum wellness in oneself and other performing artists.
- The student will be able to interpret applied scientific literature related to performing arts medicine.
