COED 6280 - Leadership and Team Dynamics in Soccer
This course will explore leadership theory and practices for soccer coaches as well as identifying team building strategies, game and practice managmeent responsibilities, scheduling, travel, budget, fund raising, equipment purchasing, recruiting and other pre/in/off season management tasks. Unique soccer management responsibilities at the youth, interscholastic, club, intercollegiate and professional levels will be identified.

Credit Hours: 3

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to accurately perceive their own leadership behavior.
- Students will be able to identify factors or barriers that limit/decrease and that enhance/increase the motivation of players, staff, and others connected to a soccer coaching environment.
- Students will be able to transfer leadership theory onto the soccer field.
- Students will demonstrate competency in a variety of team related tasks including scheduling, travel, equipment purchasing, recruiting as well as practice and game management.
- Students will develop and utilize a variety of effective team building strategies with their soccer players.
