HLTH 6720 - Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health Social and behavioral science concepts, diversity issues, theories of health education and promotion, applications to public health issues, and interventions in reference to communication, collaboration, and strategies.

Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Demonstrate the ability to apply appropriate theories/models in community health promotion and intervention programs.
- Describe major theories and models at the intrapersonal, interpersonal, community and organization, and social levels.
- Describe the categories of behavior theories and models as guided by the multi-level intervention concept.
- Describe the concept of socio-ecological model and the content of PRECEED-PROCEED model.
- Discuss the role of theory and model in understanding health behavior and disparities in health status.
