Social and behavioral science concepts, diversity issues, theories of health education and promotion, applications to public health issues, and interventions in reference to communication, collaboration, and strategies.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply appropriate theories/models in community health promotion and intervention programs.
  • Describe major theories and models at the intrapersonal, interpersonal, community and organization, and social levels.
  • Describe the categories of behavior theories and models as guided by the multi-level intervention concept.
  • Describe the concept of socio-ecological model and the content of PRECEED-PROCEED model.
  • Discuss the role of theory and model in understanding health behavior and disparities in health status.
