EDHE 7890 - Advanced Resources and Applications for Higher Education Problems


This course serves as an introduction to several higher education data resources and computer applications to analyze the data. This course includes basic practical information on computer applications, web-based information resources, higher education information systems, and statistical software analysis using Stata program. Specifically, the course provides students with opportunities to engage in the design and implementation of research projects using higher education data resources.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to access databases and resources available for secondary data analysis.
  • Students will be able to familiarize and conduct simple and multivariate regression analysis.
  • Students will be able to apply intermediate statistics knowledge in analyzing secondary data using both online data tools and Stata software.
  • Students will be able to synthesize and apply relevant literature and sources of data which pertain to the topic to a research question or problem.
  • Students will be able to generate the practical implications for the profession as a result of analysis.
