AT 5921 - AT Practicum 1 Application of knowledge and skills obtained in the classroom to patient care under the direct supervision of a clinical preceptor. Emphasizes clinical decision-making of emergent care.
Requisites: Admission to MSAT Program Credit Hours: 2 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 practicum Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in administrative tasks including basic administration and documentation including electronic medical records.
- The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in completing pre-participation physical examinations.
- The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in event set-up.
- The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in emergency care including CPR, supplemental oxygen administration, and use of automatic external defibrillator.
- The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in immediate treatment of orthopedic injuries including splinting and wound care.
- The student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in taping for lower extremity.
