CE 5640 - Transportation Planning Fundamentals

Introduction to urban transportation planning, characteristics of urban travel, travel demand models, decision models, and future issues.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 3

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will learn how to apply travel demand models to forecast future capacity of transportation system.
  • Students will learn how to perform impact analysis on transportation system.
  • Students will learn how trips are generated and distributed.
  • Students will understand different decision models in transportation.
  • Students will learn how to analyze travel demand and traffic patterns.
  • Students will describe multi-modal issues in transportation planning.
