EDCT 6031 - Advanced Topics in Instructional Design


This course presents instructional design from a management perspective. Project management will be addressed as students employ knowledge of the instructional design process to develop, evaluate and revise project plans for education and training scenarios. Timeline, cost, resource management and scope will be points of focus. Students will learn strategies for implementing and managing change.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of instructional design principles and process.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of project planning and management.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to marry the ID process with project management strategies for relevant phases.
  • Students will develop and justify a project blueprint which includes scope, time, and cost as well as risks, issues and constraints.
