Critical review of theory, research, issues, and new directions in the study of mentoring and development of mentoring practices and programs in schools and other educational settings.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Advanced degree students will chronicle historical evolution and contemporary practices and programs designed to accomplish mentoring goals.
  • Advanced degree students will critically examine the literature and conceptual frameworks that guide contemporary practices in formal and informal systems of mentoring and supervision in education.
  • Advanced degree students will demonstrate knowledge and application of strategies for integrating evidence-based assessments of teaching performance.
  • Advanced degree students will develop and display understandings of mentoring as a field of study and professional practices.
  • Advanced degree students will generate scenarios for mentoring in 21st century schools and other educational settings.
