Examines the field of distance education within the framework of instructional technology design theory.

  • Student will be able to place technology use/applications within the framework of distance education both historically and politically.
  • Students will be able to identify the political and social conflicts that technological instruction through distance education produces.
  • Students will be able to place the use of scientific modeling within the framework of instructional design theory.
  • Students will be able to place the use of multimedia within the framework of distance education and design theory.
  • Students will identify the role of design theory in student success in online environments.
  • Students will research the impact of design theory and distance education within an international context of technology use.
  • Students will research the impact of distance education and its delivery within a K-12 context of technology use.
  • Students will research the impact of distance education within an higher education context of technology use.
