COED 6200 - Research and Analysis Methods for Athletic Coaches Introduces basic research methods that athletic coaches use during their tenure. There will be a focus on analysis performance both objectively and subjectively. Students will be introduced to qualitative, quantitative, and action-research methods as they pertain to the active coach.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 4.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Articulate research question and specify problem statement during a presentation and final paper
- Develop a research project for sports performance analysis
- Learn how to use a sport analysis software program such as Dartfish during research project
- Write an IRB for submission to Office of Research Compliance
