COED 6170 - Ethics and Diversity in Athletic Coaching Encompasses the ethical and diversity issues pertaining to athletic coaches. The primary focuses will be on appropriate actions in conducting, organizing, teaching, and coaching activities.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Address ethical dilemmas confronting athletic coaches during a presentation.
- Articulate how men and women approach sport differently in class room discussions.
- Facilitate discussion on an ethical case study pertaining to athletic coaches.
- Gain an understanding of diversity in the United States with reading assignments, lectures, and discussions.
- Investigate race and sports with reading assignments, lectures and discussions.
- Write a critique paper identifying a current diversity issue and the ethical decisions required to potentially elevate issue.
