Requisites: CHE 6100 and 6400 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to apply a knowledge of convective mass transfer in the form of single and two-film models to systems of engineering interest.
- The student will be able to prepare and deliver a lecture to the class covering some basic aspect of a mass-transfer application.
- The student will be able to research (literature), prepare, and deliver a lecture to the class covering some advanced, current application of mass-transfer practice and theory. The subject matter of this lecture will preferably be related to the r
- The student will be able to use Fick¿s Law to describe mass diffusivity in a system of engineering interest.
- The student will be familiar with and able to exploit the analogies between mass transfer, heat transfer, and momentum transfer.
- The student will be familiar with ways to describe, model, and predict mass diffusion coefficients in: gases, liquids, solids, strong electrolytes, and polymers.
