CHE 5420 - Metallic Corrosion The primary objective is to cover the fundamental aspects of metallic corrosion and its’ mitigation. Basic principles of corrosion including electrochemical foundation, influence of environment, stress, strain, and structure. Selected lab experiments.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to apply the appropriate forms of corrosion prevention to a given situation.
- Students will be able to articulate the similarities and differences in the various forms of corrosion.
- Students will be able to predict corrosion rates.
- Students will be to apply the relevant electrochemical reactions to a given situation.
