CHE 5018D - Process Control and Simulation Simulation and control of chemical processes. Feedback control using root loci and Bode diagrams covered.

- The student will be able to derive a control system response.
- The student will be able to derive a process response.
- The student will be able to design a control system and optimize the control system performance.
- The student will be able to do linear and nonlinear regression.
- The student will be able to identify input and output variables of a process, and the controlled and manipulated variables of a control system.
- The student will be able to identify/determine the transfer function for a controller.
- The student will be able to identify/determine the transfer function for a process.
- The student will be able to play different roles in team projects.
- The student will be able to state/define the physical meaning of control modes, proportional, integral and/or derivative.
- The student will be able to state/define the physical meaning of process parameters, process gain, time constant and/or time delay.
- The student will be able to use control software for control analysis and design.
- The student will be able to write technical reports for control lab projects.
