CE 6550 - Advanced Water Treatment

Advanced study of theory. Design of physical/chemical treatment units. Practice in control methods.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.5 lecture, 2.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be introduced to the topics of disinfection, adsorption, and ion exchange.
  • Students will understand how air stripping can be used to treat water.
  • Students will understand reaction analysis, involving oxidation & reduction.
  • Students will understand the membrane filtration method of water treatment.
  • Students will understand the reverse osmosis method of water treatment.
